We are approaching halftime in the Third Round of Downtown Madness voting. Our two Final Four match-ups have been ultra competitive thus far but its time for someone to step up and will their team onto victory...and that person is you (and your vote).

Four delicious dishes remain and only one can be crowned Downtown Madness champion in 2012. We're in the very early stages of our two Final Four match-ups in Round 3 but it's never too soon for an update on the Madness.

DNA to Host Open House for Eight Downtown Businesses

On Thursday, April 5, from 4 to 6:30PM, the Downtown Neighborhood Association will host an open house for seven new businesses that have opened in downtown Elgin since the start of the year, and one that will be relocating to a new space in downtown. Together the businesses represent a healthy mix of retail boutiques, restaurants and professional services.

DNA and city officials will conduct a progressive series of ribbon-cutting ceremonies at each of the eight businesses. The schedule is as follows:

Guests may attend the scheduled ribbon cuttings or visit any of the participating businesses during the open house period from 4 to 6:30PM. Each business will provide refreshments and giveaways.
